Lead Auditor for OHSAS 18001

Course Summary

This course enables participants to develop the necessary expertise to audit an Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS) based on OHSAS 18001 and to manage a team of auditors by applying widely recognized audit principles, procedures and techniques. During this training, the participant will acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to proficiently plan and perform internal and external audits in compliance with ISO 19011; the certification process according to ISO 17021.

Course Objective
  • To underst and principles of Occupational Health & Safety Management.
  • Interpretation of OHSAS 18001 requirements in the context of an audit.
  • Roles and responsibilities of auditors and lead auditors.
  • To plan, delegate, conduct & manage OHSMS external (second and third party) as well as internal audits in accordance with the principles & guidance of ISO 19011.
  • To understand key concepts in Occupational Health & Safety Management System auditing
  • To improve the ability to analyze the internal and external environment of an organization, hazard assessment and audit decision- making in the context of an OHSMS
